Description

ayyyyyyy here she is, my new APH OC! I drew this to distract/destress myself from studying for finals lol :iconlazycryplz:

She's still a WIP obviously, but in a week I will be back home for summer, so I will be able to work more on her, and update all of my other OC's as well! For the time being, I can only write a few things about her, so enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Country:  Malo Sa 'oloto Tuto 'atasi o Sāmoa
Capital:
Apia
Language(s): Samoan and English
Birthday:
June 1st (originally gained independence from New Zealand on January 1st, but June 1st is the annually celebrated Independence Day)
Human Name: Tausa'afia Nafanua Alesana
Tausa'afia (tah ooh sah ‘ah FEE ah) is a Samoan name that means a "pleasant and love-able personality – someone who is kind and good and well-mannered." Nafanua is the name of a famous Samoan Warrior Princess and a legend Polynesian mythology. And Alesana is a last name taken from Tofilau Eti Alesana, a Samoan politician who was responsible for the change of the country's name from Western Samoa to Samoa.
Tausa'afia also goes by the nicknames ‘Tau’ or ‘Fia’.
Age (by appearance): 18 years old
Height: 5’7’’ (170.18 cm)
Weight: 195 lbs (88.45 kg)
Personality:
Much like her first name suggests, Tausa'afia is a very kind and well-mannered girl. She's very friendly and outgoing and loves looking for adventure! She's very gentle for a majority of the time, unless you manage to upset her. If that's the case, she will not hesitate to become aggressive and kick your ass. She's also known to be quite a good and strong leader. Tausa'afia has a great sense of humor and loves telling jokes to others in order to see them laugh or grin. She is known for being a little loud from time to time, but she doesn't care or try to hold back because she has no shame. Don't let her appearance fool you, she's very strong and can easily knock you out, especially when it comes to sports since she is very competitive.  Tausa'afia is very family-oriented and religious. Family and the church come first over other things. She makes sure to be very respectful towards others. Respect is very important. She will have your back if you have hers. She's very forgiving, which isn't always a good thing. Tausa'afia is very laid back, which also isn't a good thing all the time because that makes her unpunctual. She can also be very indecisive usually answering questions she does not immediately know the answer to with a shrug of her shoulders and an "I don't know."
One point to make is that Tausa'afia hates being stereotyped. There are many places and people who stereotype Samoans as ignorant, dumb, ugly savages, which is not true at all. If you even dare to mention something like this to Tausa'afia, she will probably stop talking to you, a rare exception to her being very forgiving.
Appearance:
Standing at 5'7'' (170.18 cm) and 195 lbs (88.45 kg), Tausa'afia could be considered a little bit on the overweight side, but she doesn't care what others say, she loves herself for who she is. She has very, very thick and wavy hair. She is only able to pull up part of her hair into a hairtie, otherwise the hairtie will snap from trying to contain too much hair. She has two hairclips of the Red Ginger, the national flower, that America gave to her a while back (represents America Samoa). She wears a black one armed top, along with a common lavalava skirt that can be retied over her right shoulder to make a dress. The pattern on the lavalava is a traditional Samoan pattern. The green color of the skirt represents the Samoan tropical moist forests. She has a matching tooth necklace and tooth anklet. The tooth necklace, also known as Ula Nifo, is normally worn during traditional dances, but Tausa'afia wears it, as well as the tooth anklet, to show her love of the Samoan culture. Tausa'afia has tattoos, known as malu on her upper thighs. These tattoos are an important symbol of Samoan cultural identity. She also has two other tattoos, one on her right arm, and one on the center of her upper back. The arm tattoo includes a turtle, which is an important animal in the Samoan culture. In general, it symbolizes longevity, wellness and peace. The tattoo of a sun on her back symbolizes riches, brightness, grandeur and leadership.
Geography overview:
Samoa is about halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii, located in the Polynesian region of the Pacific Ocean The islands make up an area of 2,842 km² (1,097 sq mi) consisting of two larger islands, Upolu and Savai'i, and eight smaller islands.
The islands were produced by volcanism, but currently the only volcanically active island is Savai'i, with Mt. Matavanu, Mata o le Afi and Mauga Afi.
